Cleanup Log – Project Recap

Our 2023/2024 Clean Coast Clean Waters Project has come to a close. It was a huge success, and through the efforts of our hardworking team, we managed to collect 38 tonnes of marine debris over the last 5 months.

After a long 5 months, we would like to take a moment to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our Clean Coast Clean Waters Team! In just 5 short months, their hard work has completely transformed our beaches – thanks to the removal of an incredible 38 tonnes of marine debris.

The debris is now in the hands of Ocean Legacy as they work on getting it into the right hands to turn it into recyclable materials!

Through the direct efforts of CRATO members and projects such as the Clean Coast Clean Waters Initiative, we have injected over 2 million dollars back into the Campbell River Community for tourism.

Stay tuned for more exciting projects in the works!

We’ would like to give a huge shout out to the BC Provincial Government, without whom none of this would be possible. Not only are our beaches looking a little lighter, but our seasonal tourism workers were able to be kept employed throughout the winter.

We’re already working on putting together our 2024/2025 cleanup, so stay tuned for updates!

Through the efforts of projects such as this, the Campbell River Association of Tour Operators has injected over 2 Million Dollars back into the Campbell River Community for tourism.
